Container or Indoor Self Storage?
In short: A storage container is a drive-up unit: you park beside it and load straight in, and ours are 20ft insulated containers at £130 a month including VAT. Indoor self storage puts your unit inside a building, usually reached along corridors or by lift, and often comes in a range of smaller sizes. Which suits you depends on how much you have, how you will load it, and how often you need to visit.

Indoor self storage
Indoor units sit inside a warehouse-style building. You usually unload at a loading bay and take your things to the unit on a trolley, along corridors or in a lift. Indoor sites often offer a range of unit sizes, which can suit someone with only a few boxes.
Which is right for you?
- A whole house or a lot of furniture: a 20ft container takes it in one go, and loading from the van door saves hours. See what fits in a 20ft container.
- A van full of tools, stock or pallets: drive-up access matters more than anything; a container takes about 10 pallets.
- Worried about damp: ask any provider how they deal with condensation. Ours are insulated; our damp page explains how.
- Only a few boxes: a smaller indoor unit may cost you less than a whole container.
Before you choose, compare the whole cost, not just the headline: our prices page sets out exactly what you pay, and do storage containers get damp? explains how our containers stay dry.
